As with copper, slate roofing has been used for centuries as a roofing material and has stood the test of time because it is a nonabsorbent natural stone. Today's slate is available in various colors and have various standards associated with them. Although not a popular choice amongst today's roofing consumer, slate roofing is one of the most breath-taking and most durable roofs on the market. However, slate roofing shares the same limitations as copper and tile roofing.
